Senegal: Orange Mobile Money Forum

The main Senegalese operator, Sonatel opened the first edition of the Orange Money forum dedicated to issues and challenges of mobile payment in Senegal and Africa on Wednesday, October 2. Scheduled to last for two days the meeting aims to create a framework for dialogue between the different actors that revolve around daily transactions by mobile in Senegal.

During the opening session of the Forum, Ms. Diop Gnagna Sow, Technical Advisor, representing the Minister of Economy and Finance has expressed “great pleasure that the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) has to participate in the first forum organized by Sonatel. ”  “The theme of the meeting is particularly interesting to us as officials, including the preparation and implementation of laws and regulations in the field of mobile money. “

According to Omar Gueye Ndiaye, Director of Strategy and Development for Sonatel and Development of Orange money in Senegal, the first edition has two objectives:” thanking our partners while taking a look back at our partnership since the launch in Senegal in 2010 and attract new partnerships to expand our range of services. “

This meeting which brought together experts, representatives of large companies, SMEs and SMIs operating in e-commerce, is scheduled to end on Thursday.
