PLUTO: The first tablet to be assembled in Egypt

A partnership between the Egyptian government, the Arab Organization for Industrialization and INTEL helped assemble the first tablet on Egyptian territory.

Called PLUTO, it should be on sale at $ 257. The PLUTO tablet with Intel Inside will be available for sale in various stores in Egypt by the end of 2013 through NordixEgypt, a local company that will be responsible for sourcing, marketing, distribution and selling the product.

PLUTO will run on Android, have an Atom Z2460 processor, with expected speeds of 1.6Ghz, 3G via USB, WiFi and 16 Giga internal memory.

The PLUTO tablet with Intel Inside is another step forward for the portfolio of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, one of the largest industrial organizations in Egypt with the latest capabilities of mechanical and electronic production, said Lt. General Abdel Aziz Seif El-Din, president of the organization.
