Samsung has named Sung Yong HONG as Chief Executive Officer at President of the group in Africa. He is moving on from being the President of Samsung Electronics in Turkey.
HONG will replace Kwang Kee PARK, who is moving towards Samsung in South East Asia after 3 years spent in Africa where he initiated several projects. Hong will be using his experience in Turkey, another emerging economy, to secure his role in Africa.
During that time, Samsung’s revenue jumped by 47,5% during the second semester to reach make a $8,5 billion. The sales of the Samsung Galaxy S4, which have reached 10 million worldwide.
The mobile division, which represent over 60 percent of the company’s revenue, has increased by 52% compared to the same period last year which amounted to $5,6 billion. This figure has dropped by 3,5 percent compared to the previous trimester.
