In the spirit of this week’s theme, there is yet another story on hackers!
One of the French-speaking Africa’s favorite web-hosts OVH, has seen the private information of its European clients be compromised by hackers. “The security of our internal network at Roubaix has been compromised,” has stated the company yesterday.
The database that was stolen by the hacker contained “user private information: name, last name, nickname, address, city, country, phone number, fax and password.” It would be difficult for hackers to recover the passwords as these were encrypted, but according to OVH it is still a “possibility”…
The web-host has indicated that it sent out emails to all those affected by the hack.
