Ericsson announced its plans to acquire the british company, Red Bee Media, in order to expand its services into content editing, and enter the television industry.
In Ericsson’s Mobility Report, the company stated that videos have become the leading trend worldwide generating a traffic of 60% per year. After demonstrating its clear intent to enter the television market by buying Technicolor‘s broadcast services division, Ericsson targets the British company.
Red Bee Media is an important player within the media services sector. It creates media content for various platforms such as mobile phones, TVs, and the web.
We are unsure as to the costs of this acquisition, but Ericsson’s Global Business Unit certainly hopes to integrate the media company into its services in order to expand its activities.
