If you are anything like me and you happen to read RSS feeds from your favorite blogs and other internet sites, then chances are that you are using Google Reader. Unfortunately, starting July 1st 2013, Google Reader will no longer exist. In order for you to recover from the grief caused by the death of your favorite RSS feed reader, I would like to offer a few alternatives:
If you are a Mac user, NetNewsWire is one of the best RSS Feed reader for your OS. The application resembles many of the native iOS applications. It also syncs with Instapaper. There are 2 available versions of the application: one free (with ads) and a premium one (with no ads).
This is a reader that the minimalists among your will appreciate. The application is simple and beautiful. It will allow you to use all of Google Reader‘s functionalities as well as a change of theme according to your wish.
This RSS feed reader is the unofficial Google Reader version which allows users to synchronise their gReader and Feedly feeds using their Gmail account. The application also has a dark theme, perfect for nighttime reading.
This reader has a very friendly looking interface: a mix of text and images that is often rare. You can have multiple accounts on there and if you want to synchronize your feeds with Feedly, you can!
