Network provider Tigo and Chinese phone manufacturer Huawei have sealed a partnership to launch Ascend Y300 in Tanzania.
The smartphone will be running under Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with a double core processor of 1 GHz and a 4″ screen. A decent device that will suit social media users. The goal is, with the help of the device, to make Tanzanians feel more comfortable with the use of smartphones. The Ascend Y300 costs 78,000 FCFA ($158) internationally, but with such a partnership, we expect that the cost would be lowered.
“We are pleased to once again partner with Tigo Tanzania and are confident that this innovation driven partnership will grow substantially and yield more innovative solutions,” said Zhang Yong QUAN, General Manager at Huawei Tanzania.
