Huawei Shows Interest in Buying Nokia

Nokia Lumia 520 Nokia Lumia 720 Huawei annonce un potentiel intérêt pour le rachat de Nokia

According the Financial Times of London, it was during the presentation of Ascend 6, the latest member in the Chinese manufacturer’s baby, that Huawei announced its potential interest in buying ex-leader in the mobile sector, Nokia.

The Finnish company’s setbacks have been well documented and according to Richard YU President of Huawei’s the consumer business group, a buy-out would depend on Nokia‘s “good-will”.

It will be very difficult for the Chinese giant to get the manufacturer of the legendary 3310 if the company isn’t interested in a “fusion” or buy-out option. Another point made by YU is Nokia‘s relentlessness in making devices solely running on Microsoft’s OS which, according to him, hasn’t proven itself yet…

It is clear that the markets took the news well and that it has given an 11% boost to the Finnish shares. We will be keeping an eye on this…
