Google Nigeria has launched a 3-day online training program aiming to generate local content. A total of 6,000 hours worth of content relevant to the Nigerian users on YouTube.
According to Juliet CHIAZOR, manager at Google Nigeria, the growth of local presence on the web has encouraged Google in the creation of content made for Nigeria.
“We know that for the internet to make a difference to us, it needs to have some local content, something that should be an integral part of our everyday lives,” said CHIAZOR. He added that “a session has been dedicated to content upload and our intention is to set a record of 6,000 hours of Nigerian content to be uploaded into YouTube in three days.”
