According to the International Data Corporation, PC sales in the Middle East and Africa are in decline. Desktop and notebooks sales have declined by 18.4% and 11.2% respectively.
Fouad Rafiq CHARAKLA, Research Manager for PC at IDC MEA said, “With a growing portion of end users opting for tablets to meet their computing needs, the demand for PCs continues to suffer”.
The drop of the sales in the region is due to the customer’s low purchase power making low-cost tablets more accessible. At the current rate of decline, the tablets are expected to take over Desktops and notebooks by 2015 worldwide.
