South Soudan: The Government is Counting on Technology to Develop the Country


The new state of South Sudan wants to lean on information technologies and communications to ensure its development.

The country has been independant in July 2011, the republic of South Sudan is sitting on huge oil reserves but doesn’t want to rely on them to generate growth. Many technological projects have been launched in the country. Among them, the set up of large band connectivity and mobile services, the docking to KA-Sat satellite and the launch of the 4G Wimax by the company RCS-Communication Ltd in February 2013.

Having made technological growth a priority, the South-Sudanese government has signed up to the panafrican e-network project. All great news…
