The Rockefeller Foundation announced at the World Economic Forum in Cape Town the launch of the “Digital Jobs Africa” initiative.
“There is no better place to announce the official launch of the Rockefeller Foundation’s Digital Jobs Africa initiative, a $97 million investment,” said the organisation’s president Judith Rodin present in South Africa.
The initiative will be executed in six countries: South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Morocco and Egypt.
The goal is to reach a million people in seven years. The money will be invested in training people in job searching, to allow them to work in digital jobs such as data entry or web design.
