Senegal: Youth from Mbour Receive ICT Training

On April 27th and  28th, the Senegalese Bloggers Network gave youth from the Mbour region training on how to master the internet and its subtilities.

Topics such as how to create a blog, how to write an article, how to use Twitter or how to manage a Facebook page were covered by the program.

The 10 participants were satisfied by the training they received. The workshop changed young Racky’s view of the social networks, while Sophie on the other hand is looking forward to using the social networks to grow her mother’s business.

For Pape Ba, the coordinator of the workshop, the ambition was to help the Mbour population to understand better the universe of the internet. The idea is to train the youth so that they can share what they have learned with others.

It is vital that we train our youth in mastering the ICT world, the region’s development and growth, but the country’s depends on it,” stated the coordinator. He reiterated his group’s disposal to continue such training. He also invinted government officials to support this initiative so that other municipalities can benefit from it.

The workshop was part of a series of activities held during the Mbour Cultural Festival’s third edition.
