Ghana: 400,000 Laptops to be Given to Students and Professors

While new Kenyan President, Uhuru KENYATTA  had made it the focal point of his presidential campaign promise, “One child, one laptop”, it is in Ghana that older students and their professors will receive 400,000 laptop by the end of 2016.

The Ghanean government is going through with intiative that will, according to Secretary of Infancy and Social Protection Nana Oye LITHUR, be crucial to the building of a more modern economy.

She also announced during the forum “Girls in ICT” in Accra that a study showed that Ghanean men had twice as much access to the Internet than girls. She hopes that this initiative will close up the gap.
